Phnom Penh: The National Job and Productivity Fair 2023 features 150 ministries, institutions, companies, enterprises, educational institutions, training partners, development partners, and national international organizations, comprising 188 booths. This event brings forth over 20,000 new job opportunities in key sectors such as banking, microfinance, insurance, wholesale and retail services, tourism, hospitality, food and beverage, real estate, construction, telecommunications, information technology, industry, manufacturing, and other service sectors. Approximately 30,000 individuals are expected to participate, applying for jobs and engaging in face-to-face interviews.
Mr. Heng Sour, the Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, emphasized the significance of the National Job and Productivity Fair held on November 10, 2023, at the Koh Pich Trade and Trade Center. This fair serves as a crucial intervention in the labor market, providing employment services that gather information and opportunities. It is organized annually, supplementing the daily efforts of the National Employment Agency of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training. The primary goal is to establish closer connections between employers offering a broad spectrum of job opportunities and qualified job seekers. This facilitates easy recruitment according to the preferred job application requirements, while also offering career counseling, active work preparation, and insights into increasing productivity.
In 2023, the fair will host 150 ministries, institutions, companies, enterprises, educational institutions, development partners, and national and international organizations, equivalent to 188 booths. These entities will bring more than 20,000 new job opportunities in major sectors such as banks, microfinance, insurance, wholesale and retail services, tourism, hospitality, food and beverage, real estate, construction, telecommunications, information technology, industry, manufacturing, and other service sectors. The event will include on-site interviews for approximately 30,000 attendees.
According to Minister Heng Sour, the National Job and Productivity Fair 2023 combines two significant events: job fairs featuring exhibitions by companies, educational institutions, ministries, institutions, and national-international organizations; and the National Productivity Promotion Campaign. The latter includes a workshop on "Opportunities and Challenges of Productivity," where national and international experts share insights on new technology development and the importance of promoting productivity for long-term growth, job improvement, and increased income. The fair aims to create a national movement and a productive culture in Cambodia.
RMA Cambodia's recruitment manager views the National Job and Productivity Fair, organized annually by the National Employment Agency (NEA) of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, as instrumental in aiding the company's recruitment of potential human resources.
It's important to note that the National Job and Productivity Fair 2023 is a collaborative effort of the National Employment Agency of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, Phnom Penh, and the Textile, Garment, Footwear, and Travel Products Association of Cambodia (TAFTAC), with support from the International Labor Organization (ILO), People in Need Cambodia, and Swiss Contact.
